Enterprises of UEC-Perm Engines Research and Production Complex (UEC-Aviadvigatel and UEC-Perm Engines, part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation) took part in the third regional professional skills competition “Best in Profession – 2022”.

Traditionally, the competition was hosted by the State Budget Professional Educational Institution “Perm Technical School of Industrial Technologies named after B.G. Izgagin” (PTPIT) with the support of the region’s leading industrial enterprises – UEC-Aviadvigatel, UEC-Perm Engines, UEC-STAR and UEC-Reductor-PM.

“Young people need to participate in competitions in order to assert themselves, to feel confident about their future. Such competitions are extremely important! - Alexander Inozemtsev, Deputy General Director of UEC for Perm Engines Research & Production Complex Management, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, welcomed the participants and organizers of the professional skills competitions. – Despite the high degree of information technology in our business, despite the high degree of automation of our equipment the need for skilful, highly professional people remains and becomes more acute every year”.

“The demand for the very professions that are taking part in the competitions is extremely high, and the results of the competition will help us identify the best of the best,” emphasized Vadim Khairulin, Chief Engineer at UEC-Perm Engines.

The total number of competitors is 131, including 22 engine builders, are competing in all categories: machine operator, electrician, CNC machine operator, machine tool and fitting work supervisor, mentor and production line supervisor. Both practical and theoretical tests are prepared. Every participant is determined to win.

Vladislav Kantuganov, a machine tool and program-controlled manipulator operator at UEC-Perm Engines, has been tasked with making a part in 60 minutes. Having studied the initial parameters, Vladislav gets to work. Given the experience and skills, he is ready to cope faster: “I have a competitive spirit, the part is not difficult, it is called a shaft. I will try to get it done sooner, in less than an hour.”

Irina Borovskikh, fitter and machine tool inspector of QCD at UEC-Aviadvigatel, graduate of Perm Aviation Secondary Technical School named after A.Shvetsov: “I completed the test task in 20 minutes. Some questions were easy to answer because they were related to my daily practice. Some questions were difficult because I don't deal with them in my work. But I was ready for any task.”

All the participants in the regional competition have gone through qualifying rounds at the companies. They have already proved their professionalism, but want to compete against their colleagues.

“The competition is a drive. You want to see how others work and show yourself off, to prove your superiority. We really appreciate this competitive spirit,” said Tatiana Snitko, Acting HR Director at UEC-Perm Engines. - The company needs such competitions very much, because a person, having mastered his business, works well, but kind of follows the traditional route. And the competition brings fresh impetus, makes you understand that you are developing, you are not standing still”.
