Young Engine Builder Days at UEC-Perm Engines

In order to help young people adapt to the workplace as quickly as possible and learn about the traditions and values of the company, UEC-Perm Engines (part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation) held Young Engine Builder Days.

The Young Engine Builder Days are held in line with the company’s youth policy, which aims to attract young employees, create conditions for comfortable and productive work, and solution of strategic tasks of the Russian engine-building industry.

During the first 11 month of 2022, UEC-Perm Engines hired 48 young professionals. There were 17 graduates with higher education, 13 of them graduated from Perm National Research Polytechnic University. 31 people have vocational secondary education, 22 of them graduated from Perm Aviation Secondary Technical School named after A.Shvetsov.

On the first day, Tatiana Snitko, Acting HR Director, answered questions from young professionals. Then the engine builders took part in a training workshop entitled “Effective communication and team development”, where they considered basic communication problems, types of business communication, personal and social features of a person, basic of psychology, behavior strategy in conflict situations, etc.

The second day began with a meeting with managers of UEC-Perm Engines.

Sergey Kharin, Executive Director, spoke about the growing production volume of aircraft engines and gas turbine units, the forthcoming reconstruction of the plant's facilities and the opening of a new production site in Osentsy. He spoke in detail about the strategic task for the enterprise - ensuring product quality, which is achieved, among other things, by strict observance of technology at each production site.

Maxim Kuznetsov, Deputy Chief Engineer, reported on digital transformation of production, pilot projects of full process automation and additive technologies. He emphasized that continuous training is a key quality of a modern specialist and at UEC-Perm Engines today there is every opportunity for professional development.

An important part of the event was a visit to the Perm Engine Building History Museum of and the assembly shop of aircraft and industrial engines. Finally, the young specialists took part in a team-building exercise.

“We organize work so that the development of each young specialist at the company is permanent and systematic. Today, the employer values the demonstration of initiative, creative contribution to work, and self-improvement. All technological and production processes at the enterprise are built in accordance with the world standards, and their successful mastering will allow yesterday’s graduate to join the team of the best engine builders in the country in a few years” noted Tatiana Snitko, Acting HR Director at UEC-Perm Engines.
