A debating club meeting entitled “Problems and Perspectives of Additive Technologies Application in Russian Engine Manufacturing” was held in Perm at the base of UEC-Aviadvigatel (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation).
The club was attended by representatives of UEC enterprises from Perm, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Omsk, Samara and Ufa: JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel”, JSC UEC “NIID” branch, JSC “UEC-Klimov”, branch of PJSC “UEC-Saturn”-OMBK, PJSC “UEC-Kuznetsov”, PJSC “UEC-UMPO”, representatives of “Innovative Engineering Technologies” department of Perm National Research Polytechnic University, students of the master’s program “Advanced Engineering Schools” of Perm National Research Polytechnic University, students of “Rostec Wings” of Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev (trainees of PJSC “UEC-Kuznetsov”).
Aleksey Permyakov, Chief Engineer of UEC-Aviadvigatel, emphasized that the expansion of additive technologies application is one of the priority areas of the design bureau and pilot production.
It should be noted that it is not by chance that the debating club meeting was held on the basis of the Perm Design Bureau. The specialists of “UEC-Aviadvigatel” have twenty years of experience in implementing additive technologies in the production of new items for advanced engines of the PD family, as well as in using these technologies to repair engine parts of aviation and industrial purposes.
“The Debating Club is always an open platform for discussing the most pressing problems of professional activity and establishing contacts for further cooperation. Additive technologies are becoming an objective reality, we strive to implement them more and more in the design of advanced engines. Participants of today’s event are young specialists and students. Tomorrow they will have to use additive technologies as a familiar tool,” said Denis Popov, the event organizer, designing and computing engineer of the turbine department, deputy chairman of the United Council of Youth of UEC for Science and Technological Development.
During the event, the club members visited the experimental-industrial center of additive technologies “UEC-Aviadvigatel”, as well as the section of advanced repair technologies, mechanical production and foundry and thermal shop of the enterprise.
