The enterprises of Perm Engines Research and Production Complex (JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel” and JSC “UEC-Perm Engines”, part of Rostec United Engine Corporation) celebrated their double anniversary with a grand celebration held at the Molot palace of sports.
More than 6 thousand engine manufacturers attended the celebration: employees of the serial production plant and design bureau, their family members, and veterans of the enterprises. Before the event started, guests could listen to live music and take memorable photos in photo zones. There was also a dance floor at the ice arena for the engine manufacturers.
Aleksey Chibisov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Perm Region, welcomed the audience. On behalf of the Governor Dmitry Makhonin and the regional government, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade congratulated the engine manufacturers on the double anniversary, “The fate of the national aviation industry depends on your work. You put the new PD-14 engine into production, you are finalizing and will soon put PD-8 on the wing, and you are actively developing the newest PD-35 engine. We are proud that the Perm Region has enterprises of such a level!”
The atmosphere of the celebration was supported by performances of creative teams from Perm and other Russian cities. The engine manufacturers warmly greeted a vocal congratulation from young colleagues of the design bureau and the plant, accompanied by a video clip “Everything depends on us” about the people of Perm Engines.
“UEC-Aviadvigatel” and “UEC-Perm Engines” are located in the Sverdlovsk district of Perm. Aleksandr Korotkikh, the head of the municipality, welcomed the audience, “Everyone who is here today, who is going on the stage is a real hero. A hero of the plant, the city, and the country. Thank you for increasing the power of our state. Thank you for the fact that Perm Engines lift the best civil airplanes into the sky!”
“Perm Engines” is one of the largest and most influential industrial companies not only in the region, but also in the country. “We work at unique enterprises. The design bureau and serial production plant are at the cutting edge of scientific and technological progress. We do the impossible!” Igor Maksimov, Deputy General Designer - Chief Designer of the PD engine family at “UEC-Aviadvigatel”, stated. “Today it is up to us to ensure Russia's technological independence, to solve the transportation mobility of our country. Friends! We are proud of our history and modern achievements. And together we will cope with all the challenges of tomorrow!”
Creation of the most complex gas turbine engines is a matter for a large, well-coordinated team. The success of Perm engine manufacturing is based on the close, long-standing relationship between the design bureau and the serial production plant. Vadim Khairulin, Chief Engineer of “UEC-Perm Engines”, said in his welcoming speech, “This year our inseparable enterprises celebrate their anniversary. Over these years a unique Perm school of aircraft engine manufacturing has been created and is developing, our enterprises are developing. More than one generation of engines has been created, which have proved their efficiency and reliability – it is our engines that the President of the Russian Federation flies on. These victories have been achieved thanks to you – our unique specialists. Today I thank each of you for your honest, conscientious and sometimes selfless labor. Our achievements are the result of our teamwork.”
It is a great tradition to honor the best in the anniversary year. More than 60 employees of the design bureau and the plant received well-deserved awards from Rostec State Corporation, the Bureau of the Central Council and the Perm Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union LLC, United Engine Corporation, the Governor of the Perm Region and the Head of the City of Perm.
The grand finale of the celebration and the main gift was the performance of a special guest – the popular band “Discoteka Avaria”. The artists warmly congratulated the engine manufacturers from the stage and presented them the best songs from their repertoire.
