“UEC-Perm Engines” (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation) together with Animashka Cartoon Studio realized a project for early career guidance of children called PD-35 Studio. The result was short cartoons about industrial enterprises of Perm.
The PD-35 Studio project won the regional contest of social projects and received a grant from the Governor of Perm Region. Ten kindergartens were equipped with cartoon laboratories with special machines, where children created cartoons about industrial enterprises of Perm and promising professions.
Preschoolers drew the cartoon characters and voiced them by themselves, while the teachers of the Animashka studio helped to edit the video sequence and add the sound. As a result, animated short films about the enterprises “Reductor-PM”, “Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez”, “Proton-PM”, “StroyPanelKomplekt”, and “Perm Shipyard” were created. Three educational cartoons for preschoolers were made about “UEC-Perm Engines” – “Airplane”, “Engine”, and “Plant”.
A movie screening of cartoons was held on the big screen of Perm Cinematheque in the Kristall Cinema. The session was attended by representatives of the mentioned enterprises, teachers of the cartoon studio and kindergarten teachers, as well as young cartoonists and their parents.
Andrey Kazakov (7 years old), a pupil of the kindergarten “Theater of the Star”, took part in the creation of a cartoon about “Perm Engines”. The boy tried himself as a voice actor, and he liked this creative process very much. Even now, Andrey is already thinking about his future profession. His new knowledge about aircraft engines, the specialty of aircraft designer and other industrial enterprises of our city will be useful to him.
The corporate museum of the plant carries out active career guidance work among schoolchildren and students. For the first time, the museum took the initiative to tell pre-school children about the city’s industry in the most understandable form – this way it will be easier for them to choose their future profession.
“Important achievements are the successfully established cooperation between preschool facilities and enterprises and confidence in the continuation of the project. The Governor’s Grant Fund initiated support of its further development. I think that in the future the Perm Region will have a new festival of cartoons dedicated to local industry,” Valeria Gavrilova, Head of the Museum of “UEC-Perm Engines”, is confident.
