Savely Sedrisev, a third-year student of the Perm Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies named after B. G. Izgagin, took first place at the regional stage of the All-Russian Professional Skills Championship “Professionals” in the competence “Work on Milling Versatile Machines”. Two years ago, the student signed a targeted training contract with JSC UEC-Perm Engines (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation).
Savely Sedrisev’s future profession is a machine and equipment setup man in machine processing. His success is based on three important factors: an experienced teacher at the technical school, his own attitude to the craft as an art, and industrial practice at UEC-Perm Engines.
Olga Ponomareva, a teacher at the Perm Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies named after B. G. Izgagin, has been helping qualified workers-future winners of factory, regional and federal competitions, start their careers for forty-one years. The main thing for a teacher is not only to find motivation for professional success, but also not to miss those moments when even the strongest students begin to lose their self-belief. “Sometimes it is necessary to support in a motherly way, to hug and say: you will definitely succeed”, Olga shared.
“I have always dreamed of working at a large plant with modern machines, high-end professionals and a friendly team. Perm Engines is just such a plant. I was convinced of this during my practical training in the shop for the manufacture of non-standard equipment. I decided to take part in the competition without any doubt, because milling for me is not just mechanical processing of a part. It is high art”, Savely Sedrisev said.
UEC-Perm Engines provides participants of a targeted training program with an additional scholarship, a place of paid practical training, and a guaranteed place of work after graduation. Today, about a thousand students of colleges and universities have signed targeted training contracts with the enterprise, 573 of them are students of the Perm Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies named after B. G. Izgagin.
