JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel” (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation, member of the Russian Engineering Union) and Igor Gratsilev, the Chief Power Engineer of the enterprise, won the competition of the Association of Power Engineers of the Western Ural.
The award ceremony was held within the framework of the roundtable discussion “Energy-Efficient Industrial Energy” organized by the Association of Power Engineers of the Western Ural on the territory of the Perm Fair exhibition.
Opening the roundtable, Danir Zakirov, General Director of the Association of Power Engineers of the Western Ural, said: “Energy saving and energy efficiency improvement today are part of the state policy of sustainable development, the fight for conservation of climate and environmental improvement. All the member enterprises of our association are constantly working in this direction.”
UEC-Aviadvigatel has repeatedly won the competition for the title “The Best Energy-Efficient Enterprise of the Western Ural”. The main task of the Design Bureau is to achieve production growth without increasing energy consumption. For this purpose the power equipment is constantly being upgraded, working conditions are being improved, and maintenance-and-running costs are being reduced.
“Last year, we completed our main project, a large-scale reconstruction of the substation of the open test bench, increasing its power capacity from 350 to 800 kVA. In addition, a new cable line was built on the city industrial site of UEC-Aviadvigatel. It is important that now it is carried out not underground, but along overpasses, which excludes cable damage due to earth works or ground movement,” said Igor Gratsilev. “Modern cables were used in the new line, which not only ensured uninterrupted power supply to consumers, but also increased the capacity of the line. New energy-intensive consumers regularly appear at the enterprise, and we are preparing for this in advance.”
Power engineers of UEC-Aviadvigatel continued modernization of transformer substations, increasing their total capacity by several times. This is also a long-term work, as the number of machines, IT components and other equipment is constantly growing.
In 2024, another complex engineering task was solved: a new water pipeline was laid, and this was done using a progressive method of directional drilling.
It became possible to implement these projects and perform a large volume of other work important for the enterprise thanks to the cohesive, highly qualified team of the Chief Power Engineer Department. "Our team resembles a Swiss watch, a symbol of quality and precision. Each specialist of the department works clearly, competently, and as efficiently as possible," said Igor Gratsilev.
The government has set a goal for Perm engine manufacturers to significantly increase production of gas turbine engines for aviation and industry. Production growth inevitably entails energy consumption. However, the Design Bureau specialists know how to manage this process, reducing energy losses and increasing the energy efficiency of production.
