UEC-Perm Engines (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation, member of the Russian Engineering Union) is completing the corporate action “Face to Face”, within the framework of which Perm engine manufacturers honored veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the home front workers.
The purpose of the federal corporate action is to preserve historical memory and to strengthen the bond between generations. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, 5 war veterans and 30 home front workers are surrounded by the attention and care of the Perm city public organization “Veterans of Perm Engines”. The heads of the organization, Rashid Dzunza and Nikolay Naidenov, presented each of them at home with a jubilee medal “80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”, established by the order of the President of the Russian Federation dated September 2, 2024. In addition, each of them received a valuable gift from the enterprise.
Sergey Kharin, Executive Director of UEC-Perm Engines, member of the Regional Council of the Russian Engineering Union, personally welcomed the home front workers at a reception at the Museum of History of Perm Engine Manufacturing. Four former employees were able to attend the meeting with the head of the plant and a festive tea party: Nikolay Ketov, a grinder, a holder of the Orders of Labor Glory of 1st and 2nd classes, Serafima Shevchuk, a supervisor of locksmith and machine-tool works, Taisya Vankova, a process engineer, and Maria Yakimova, a storekeeper.
“I know about the difficult wartime from the stories of my grandparents, those were the years of their youth. Your generation was tempered by hard selfless labor, and a strong will along with an iron character helped you to fulfill all tasks of national importance and became a solid basis for all our production victories,” Sergey Kharin congratulated the home front workers and bowed low to them.
