The enterprises of “Perm Engines” Research & Production Complex (UEC-Aviadvigatel and UEC-Perm Engines are part of the Rostech United Engine Corporation, members of Russian Engineering Union) have congratulated the Aerospace Faculty and Aircraft Engine Department of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU) with their anniversary.
This year the PNRPU’s Aerospace Faculty and Aircraft Engine Department celebrate the 70th anniversary. The enterprises of “Perm Engines” Research & Production Complex were vigorously involved in the anniversary events of longstanding partners.
The festive activities were held on June 21st in Gorky Park. The organizers have split the territory into thematical orbits: popular science, career, aviation.
In the interactive Popular Scientific Orbit pavilion guests could see aviation showpieces, talk to the leading scientists and learn a lot of interesting things about state-of-art technologies. At the Career Orbit area UEC-Aviadvigatel, UEC-Perm Engines and other leading industrial partners of the faculty have presented their Skill Development Programs to prospective university students and their parents, given information about specialty in demand, career prospects, and professional development opportunities. The park rotunda housed an Aviation Orbit, where the attendees could visit an UEC-Aviadvigatel’s on-line museum and see real aircraft engine mockups in an interactive form.
On the park’s big stage, the best students were presented with the Letters of Appreciation.
Prof. Vladimir Modorsky, Dean of the Aerospace Faculty, during his opening speech has told about the facilities and resources, academic staff, about the opportunities that the faculty provides the students with, highlighting the fact, that Aerospace Faculty is proud of its solid relationships with baseline companies that took part in the festivities.
Tatiana Snitko, Director of HR, UEC-Aviadvigatel, before presenting the Letters of Appreciation to the employer-sponsored students, have noted that the Aerospace Faculty graduates have great prospects both in the employer selection and in search for the best place to apply their efforts, and as well in a possibility to become successful and make a career. “An engineer could succeed in any field of activity, but never in the opposite way”, she assures.
Mikhail Yaburov is an honour of the Aircraft Engine Department. He progressed to the fourth year of study: “For me, this award means that both the company and the university appreciate the work of students. This also motivates to study further”.
Mikhail Voroshilov, Director of HR, UEC-Perm Engines, called the history of cooperation between the Faculty and the Plant as a history of achievements and victories that play an important role in ensuring the technological sovereignty and greatness of our country. He wished the Faculty that has grown up several generations of great engine builders, further development, it graduates – new production victories, and today’s students – to become worthy successors of the previous generations.
One of those who has been honoured with the Letter of Appreciation from UEC-Aviadvigatel was Semen Muravich. His father, mother and elder brother are working at the plant. But unlike them, he is more interested in material science, rather that technology.
“I have completed a second year. I have chosen a company-sponsored education, because I know so much of the company specifics, as almost all my family work there. I am really interested in this industry. And the company-sponsored education is at least a guarantee of employment. Furthermore, once you start working, you learn faster and immediately begin to develop as a specialist”, says Semen.
At the end of the festive evening, the guests were able to see a performance of the Katrina cover band.
Everyone who came to the Gorky Park that day have taken a deep dive into the incredible world of technology, science and creativity, and experienced bright emotions.
On June 23rd, there was a ceremonial meeting held in the auditorium of the main building of PNRPU dedicated to 70th anniversary of the Aerospace Faculty and the Aircraft Engine Department. It was attended by well-known graduates, academic staff, students, regional and city leaders, partner companies.
Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of Perm krai, highlighted a great contribution of the Aerospace Faculty to the development of Perm krai as one of the engineering centers of the country.
This time the Letters of Appreciation were presented to the Faculty fellows, along with memorable gifts for its best graduates that are honours of the Faculty, including Managing Director – General Designer of UEC-Aviadvigatel, Academician of the RAS, Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, member of the Regional council of the Russian Engineering Union Aleksandr Inozemtsev, Senior Deputy of Managing Director, General Designer and Head of the Development Design Bureau of UEC-Aviadvigatel Takhir Khairulin, Executive Director of UEC-Perm Engines, member of Regional council of the Russian Engineering Union Sergey Kharin.
Aleksand Inozemtsev is a Head of Aircraft Engine Department for about 25 years. Over these years, more than 1.5 billion rubles have been invested in the department: laboratory equipment, classroom repairs, purchase of computer hardware, and so on.
“In the nearest future we will report to the rector how we will further develop the department, what real prospects we see, which laboratories we will modify and develop, what are new directions that we will create. We have good prospects. There is still much work to do for graduates of the Faculty and Department: in development, research and serial production”, says Mr. Inozemtsev.
An original performance “To the Founders” prepared by the students of the Aerospace Faculty was a bright closing of the ceremonial meeting.
Today, the Aerospace Faculty is one of the largest faculties in Perm Polytechnic University. It has been and remains the main engineering “talent factory” for Perm machine builders.
