“Perm Engines” offers a career path at a major engine building enterprise

02.04.2026

The company UEC-Perm Engines (a part of Rostec United Engine Corporation, a member of Russian Engineering Union (Soyuzmash of Russia)) conducted production site tours for 80 first-year students from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU).

The visits by students from the “Engineering support for the mechanical production” department were quite eventful. HR Director Mikhail Voroshilov, Chief Engineer Vadim Khairulin, and Chief Process Engineer Igor Seredokha welcomed the students. They spoke about the enterprise’s output products, its development strategy and career opportunities.

For the students, the tour marked an important step in their professional adaptation. The tour route took them through the foundry and mechanical production areas, where metal takes shape and is being transformed into high-precision engine parts. At the thermal barrier coating center, the first-year students were introduced to unique technologies that ensure engine reliability and durability. Particular interest was sparked by the design-to-manufacture center — a powerhouse for engineering talent that many ambitious graduates aspire to join. The young participants received detailed answers to all their questions and gained a fresh perspective on their future profession.

One of the tour participants—first-year student and contract student Ilya Burdin—graduated from the Shvetsov Perm Aviation Secondary Technical School and had previously completed an internship at the enterprise.

“During the internship, I’ve had the chance to try my hand at being a lathe operator and a process engineer, visit many shops, and get an up-close look at production. Now I know exactly where and what kind of work I want to do after university. Perm Engines is a place that guarantees stability, where you can fulfill your potential and contribute to the development of Russia’s aircraft engine building industry,” shared Ilya Burdin.

For the enterprise, such meetings are an investment in the future. Specialists from the UEC-Perm Engines Training Center presented programs for company-sponsored education and youth support. Many of the current students have already signed contracts with the enterprise, while others will make that decision later: getting acquainted with real production will help young people make an informed choice about their future workplace.

“We don’t wait for graduates to come to us – we meet them halfway, giving them the opportunity to see production from the inside and envision their future. We have plenty to offer those who choose Perm Engines: prestigious work, expert mentorship, involvement in real projects, and solid career prospects,” emphasized Vadim Khairulin, Chief Engineer of UEC-Perm Engines.
