Employees of UEC-Aviadvigatel (a part of Rostec United Engine Corporation, member of Russian Engineering Union (Soyuzmash of Russia)) claimed multiple awards at the corporate festival “Trudovye Rezervy” (“Labour Reserves”), held in Perm at the “Energia” sports complex.
UEC-Aviadvigatel’s athletes competed in five disciplines: men’s and women’s volleyball, football, swimming and track and field. The Perm design bureau’s heads also fielded a team in electronic target shooting. The full festival program featured competitions across seven sports: volleyball, 5x5 football, swimming, track and field, gorodki, electronic target shooting, and table tennis.
Following two days of intense competition, UEC-Aviadvigatel’s athletes secured places among the winners and medalists. The men’s volleyball team captured third place in the Bronze Cup. The football squad won first place in the Bronze Cup final. The track and field team delivered the second-best overall team result and finished third in the track and field relay.
Swimmers made their mark in both individual swims and in team events. Oleg Pazhgin took third place in the under-35 category, Georgy Serebrich came third among participants among participants over 35, and Daria Solovyova captured silver in the women’s under-35 category. In the swimming relay, the company’s team finished second.
The women’s volleyball squad entered the competition with a brand-new lineup and made an immediate impact, taking second place in the tournament standings. The UEC-Aviadvigatel debutantes turned out to be one of the festival’s biggest revelations. Despite having no prior experience of playing together at the official level, the athletes showcased grit, composure, and a fierce will to win. In the decisive match for the top spot, the team narrowly fell to their opponents with a score of 2:1.
“For us, this was the first tournament with this lineup. The high level of competition, the excellent venue, and the worthy opponents—it all set a truly competitive spirit. Despite the injuries, our girls showed strength and tenacity, fighting until the very last rally. Now we plan to play together more often, drill our combinations, and come back to win next time,” said team member Tatyana Kuznetsova.
First Deputy Managing Director – General Designer, Head of the Design Bureau at UEC-Aviadvigatel Takhir Khairulin, who himself took part in the shooting competition, welcomed the Perm design bureau's athletes.
“I would like to thank everyone for taking part in the Corporate Festival “Trudovye Rezervy”. You delivered confident performances, passionate and fair competition, and strong results. I wish you continued success in sports. I am certain that competitions like these bring the team closer together, which also carries over into solving production challenges,” Takhir Khairulin emphasized.
The team's successful showing at the corporate festival once again proved that the sports conditioning and team spirit of engine builders consistently lead to outstanding results in everything they do.
