UEC-Perm Engines (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation, members of Russian Engineering Union (Soyuzmash of Russia)) has published a commemorative photo album, produced with support from the Perm regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf.
This anniversary edition carries on the Soviet tradition of factory photo chronicles, which have preserved the enterprise’s most significant milestones to this day and now form part of the collection of the Museum of the History of Perm Engine Building.
Today, over 70 hearing-impaired employees work across a wide range of production areas at UEC-Perm Motors. They are working in many different professions, including turner, milling machine operator, mechanical assembly fitter, toolmaker, filer, fettler, grinder, CNC machine operator, joiner, scrap and metal waste press operator, plumber, industrial cleaner, and more.
“Hearing-impaired specialists are fully-fledged members of their work teams. They stand out for their discipline and their conscientious attitude to the tasks entrusted to them. These are people of truly strong spirit, and the photo album is a sincere story about their lives,” noted Nikolai Andreev, Deputy Chairman of the Perm regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union.
