Specialists of UEC-Perm Engines and UEC-Aviadvigatel (member of the United Engine Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation) participated in XIV International Youth Industrial Forum Engineers of the Future – 2026 with the support from the Perm regional branch of Soyuzmash of Russia.
In the Year of Unity of Nations of Russia, the forum brought together 1,000 participants from 56 regions of the country and from 61 different states. The educational program was attended by young specialists from almost 300 industrial enterprises and students from the country's leading technical universities. Over 820 events took place during the forum, 20 educational groups were trained, 75 project teams were formed, and more than 600 experts shared their experience with the forum participants.
This year, quality engineer Vladimir Oganesyan, process engineer Polina Lykhina and labor safety specialist Svetlana Matochkina represented UEC-Perm Engines at the forum. UEC-Aviadvigatel was represented by design engineers Artyom Shmelev, Aryslan Khabirov and Daniil Gilyazetdinov.
The young specialists spent 11 days side by side with colleagues from other UEC enterprises. Every day was scheduled to the minute: there were educational programs in the morning, followed by business programs, and cultural and sports events in the evening. The forum turned out to be so intense that it took the team several hours to painstakingly make a schedule that would allow to attend as many events as possible and not miss anything.
The main topic of the educational module of UEC Optima this year is cost management of high-tech products at all stages of the life cycle. The program is aimed at developing the professional competencies of young engineers in this field. Artyom Shmelev noted that during the training, he learned about the methods of the engine production industry modernization, optimization and development, as well as the methods of improving product quality and working conditions. "While completing the final task, we suggested the idea of adjusting the forum curriculum. Our proposal was to request real tasks and problems from the UEC enterprises and use future forums to articulate such cases to participants as tasks for finding solutions," Artyom Shmelev shared.
Process engineer Polina Lykhina participated in the forum for upgrading her soft skills, explore artificial intelligence introduction in production and see the future of the aircraft engine industry. She managed to implement her plans and do even more: she discussed most interesting topics of the industry with the experts, saw the production arrangement at the Tula region enterprises with her own eyes, visited historical and cultural monuments, exhibition complexes and museums.
Polina said that the most valuable thing for her was to go beyond the usual tasks and see how everything works on a corporate level. Now, while developing engine repair process documentation, she understands how the entire product lifecycle is affected by a decision of hers.
Vladimir Oganesyan, a quality engineer, noted that the forum helped to "shake up" and get rid of the routine. The participants didn't just exchange opinions with colleagues from other companies — they pumped up critical thinking, collected knowledge that would be useful for both work and personal growth.
