Heads of UEC-Aviadvigatel and UEC-Perm Engines (both part of the government Rostec United Engine Corporation, members of the Russian Engineering Union) have taken part in the Knowledge Day celebrations. 32 employer-sponsored students have begun their studies at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University, together with 480 students in Perm Aviation Technical School named after A.D. Shvetsov, and over 500 students in Perm College of Industrial and Information Technologies named after B. G. Izgagin.
This year, 47 students were enrolled in Design of Aircraft and Rocket Engines program at Perm National Research Polytechnic University, 32 of whom are Aviadvigatel and Perm Engine contract students. These students' Unified State Exam average grade in Maths, Physics, and Russian is 227, demonstrating their high level of initial training. In five years, they will become highly qualified specialists and will design aircraft engines at UEC enterprises in Perm.
A special guest at the Perm Polytechnic University’s Solemn Line was Aleksandr Inozemtsev, General Director and Chief Designer of UEC-Aviadvigatel, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation, Professor, Head of the Department of Aircraft Engines at the Aerospace Faculty of Perm National Research Polytechnic University.
“Student days are the best time, the most exciting. I wish you to spend it in a useful way: gain as much knowledge as possible, become a good professional, and learn to be creative. And then come work for us and help the country”, says Aleksandr Inozemtsev.
In addition, the representatives of the PNRPU rector's office, Vladimir Modorsky, a Dean of the Aerospace Faculty, and, Mikhail Pesin, a Dean of the Mechanical Engineering and Technology Faculty, welcomed the first-year students.
The Perm Aviation Technical School named after A.D. Shvetsov, training specialists in the working specialties for engine producer, also opened its doors to its freshmen. Technical school’s Director Aleksandr Dicheskul noted that young people have made an important and reasonable choice on their path to professional development. The Deputy Director of Human Resources of UEC-Perm Engines Tatyana Snitko has addressed future engine makers.
“Studying at Aviation Technical School is the shortest and most reliable path to becoming sought-after professionals. We welcome young specialists to our companies. It is you who will shape the future of the Russian aviation”, says Tatyana Snitko.
Perm Aviation Technical School has been training specialists for the Perm engine industry since 1932. Every year, dozens of machine operators, equipment adjusters, technologists, controllers, maintenance men, and metrologists graduate from the technical school, who create engines at Perm Engines and Aviadvigatel. This year, 480 students in specialized fields went into the technical school.
In addition, a ceremonial meeting with first-year students took place at the Perm Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies named after B. G. Izgagin. The Technical School Director Vyacheslav Aspidov said that more than 500 people have been admitted to the technical school for specialties of UEC-Perm Engines. This result is largely due to effective cooperation with the enterprise, which acts as an industrial partner in the Professionalitet federal project.
Mikhail Voroshilov, HR Director of UEC-Perm Engines, congratulated the first-year students and told them about the company and the prospects that await future graduates in employment at the plant.
“A new era in your lives is beginning. Each of you has made absolutely the right choice. You will acquire in-demand professions. Our company has been working effectively in a tight link to the technical school for many years. Upon joining the plant, graduates become excellent specialists and work for the benefit of the Perm's engine industry and the country”, emphasized Mikhail Voroshilov.
For Perm engine makers, the Knowledge Day also means caring for the children of employees, who begin their school life on September 1st. This year Perm Engines has over 460 first-graders. Each of them received a stylish backpack with a set of art supplies and excellent study materials. The Knowledge Day gifts are not only an important element of corporate culture but also a long-standing tradition, demonstrating that companies recognize not only the work of their specialists but also care about the well-being of their families.
