In March, “UEC-Aviadvigatel” JSC arranged annual family event “Health Day”. More than 200 people, the employees of Perm design bureau and their family members participated in the event. The sport program included ski-race, relay, kettlebell lifting competition, contests “Fun Run” and “Papa, Mama and Me”. Alexander Inozemtsev, the Managing Director – General Designer of “UEC-Aviadvigatel” JSC participated in the ceremonial opening of the Day.
The “Health day” event was held as part of celebrating the centenary of the birth of legendary aviation engine designer P. A. Solovyov who had been heading the Perm Design Bureau (now – “UEC-Aviadvigatel” JSC) for more than 30 years. The plans of “Aviadvigatel” for 2017 include a series of the anniversary events dedicated to P.A. Solovyov, including organizing exposition in the park adjoining the Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet House, scientific technical conference covering the topical engine-building issues, exhibitions in the Perm Museum of Local History and Perm Art Gallery, concert program at the city esplanade and others.

P.A. Solovyov is an aviation engine designer, the world’s founder of the turbofan gas turbine engine, the Hero of Socialist Labor, the Laureate of the State and Lenin Prize of the USSR, Associate Member of the Academy of Sciences, honored master of science and engineering of the USSR, Professor, honorary citizen of the city of Perm. Today, the engines developed by P.A. Solovyov successfully operate at the best Russian airplanes – Tu-204, Tu-214, Il-96. Engines PS-90A carry the planes of the president and the prime-minister into the sky. Association of Aero Engine Manufactures declared 2017 the year of Pavel Solovyov.
