Mariya Levanova, a design engineer of the turbine division of UEC-Aviadvigatel JSC, took the third medal place in the scientific technical conference of young specialists organized by NPO Iskra public company.
M. Levanova participated in the production and technology workshop of the conference with her report “Improving the Methods of Controlling Turbine Blades of Gas Turbine Engines”. There were 24 reports in total presented at the workshop.
Commenting on her speech at the forum, Mariya said, “Participating in the conference is first of all the opportunity to discover something new, something that can initiate further professional development. Such forums give an opportunity not only to learn the technological findings of the colleagues, but also to implement them in our company. The experience of such public speaking will be useful for me in my work and in my life.”
There were three more workshops held as part of the conference – “Space-Rocket Technologies”, “Equipment for Fuel and Power Sector and Products of General Technical Purpose”, “Economics, Management, Marketing and Information Technologies”. More than 80 specialists participated in the conference and represented different companies of Perm, Moscow, St Petersburg. The main evaluation criteria was the practical relevance of the works.

Scientific and technical conference of young specialists by NPO Iskra public company, was introduced in 2003 for supporting and developing the creative initiatives and the potential of young scientists. In 2008, the conference got the status of an open event. The scientific conference of 2018 was dedicated to the 85-th anniversary of L.N. Lavrov’s birth. L.N. Lavrov was the first general designer of the company, the corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Hero of Socialist Labor.
