In June 2021, JSC UEC-Aviadvigatel (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation) specialists trained under Presidential programme of management training defended their thesis projects.
Heads of the enterprise’s departments took a course on-the-job training in strategic and project management, HR management, marketing and finance.
UEC-Aviadvigatel has been participating in the Presidential Programme since 2003, training its specialists in the so-called advanced project-oriented educational type. During this time, more than seventy employees of the enterprise have undergone professional retraining.
This training is very much in demand, therefore applicants are selected – only specialist under the age of fifty, with a good business reputation, with a higher education, work experience at the enterprise for at least five years, two years of them – in executive positions. Applying for participation in the Programme, everyone must have a certain project idea for the enterprise development.
Among the graduates of the 2021 Presidential Programme are Ivan Merzlyakov, PD Project Department Team Leader, Dmitry Mikrukov, Head of High Precision Small-Sized Part Bureau, Stanislav Guzachev, Head of the Lead Department for the PS-90A Engine and Its Modifications, Pavel Morozov, Head of Gas Turbine Assembly and Test Department and Vera Gomzikova, Deputy Head of Innovative Development Department.
At the final defense of thesis projects, UEC-Aviadvigatel specialists presented the following works: “Implementation of modular balancing of gas turbine engine rotors” (I.Y. Merzlyakov), “Improvement of the interaction system between MTD technological departments and production within the framework of the PD-35 project implementation at UEC-Aviadvigatel” (D.A. Mikruykov), “Development of PS-90A1 aircraft engine version, complying with the customers’ requirements to its performance and ecological characteristics” (S.E. Guzachev), “Rationale for the necessity and effectiveness of creating an advanced gas turbine unit based on the PD-14 aircraft engine core” (P.M. Morozov), “Improving the procurement process and contractual documentation in the IT department of UEC-Aviadvigatel” (V.A. Gomzikova).
Attestation Commission assessed all theses as “excellent”, noting their focus on the solution of urgent production tasks of the enterprise. In particular, Head of the Presidential programme, Doctor of Science, Economics, Professor of the Management and Marketing Department, PNRPU, Nikolay Akatov said: “The Presidential Programme gives an opportunity to rise above the daily production routine, to see the most urgent problems of the enterprise and try to find a solution to them. We have a long history of productive, task-oriented training of management members. I hope that our new projects will be even more significant. We will continue to work on their feasibility and usefulness for the enterprise. This interaction and the achievement of real results inspires us”.
According to the graduates of the Presidential programme, they want to use knowledge and skills acquired in their future work, and it is this, rather than a diploma, will be the impetus for their further development and career.
Summarizing the results of thesis projects defense, Takhir Khairulin, Senior Deputy Managing Director and General Designer, Head of Development Engineering, noted: “First, within the framework of the Presidential programme our specialists get invaluable skills to assess the activities of the enterprise as a whole or the viability of individual projects, especially from an economic point of view. It helps them a lot in their work. Secondly, the programme gives them opportunity to improve their managerial competencies significantly. It is no coincidence that half of the graduates noticeably move up the job ladder”.
Ahead of the Presidential programme graduates is graduation ceremony and implementation of the defended project ideas in the real production.
