Aeroengine Materials and Parts Structural Testing Laboratory is involved in testing for creep, thermal mechanical fatigue, stress-rupture strength, cyclic cracking resistance, etc. Polymer and composite materials properties under tensile and compression, bending and shearing at different temperatures and humidity are studied out there, as well as short-term properties of metals and alloys. ⠀
The key objective is to generate a data bank on the structural integrity of materials. It will contain the results of experimentally justified analyses that can be used to predict a service life limit of the major engine components without life testing.
