25 specialists of UEC-Perm Engines (part of Rostec’s United Engine Corporation) got acquainted with production of gas turbine engines in UEC-Klimov (Saint-Petersburg).
The delegation from Perm consisted of the winners of the company annual professional skills competition “Profi” and multiple winners and prize-takers of Rostec’s corporate games.
UEC-Perm Engines offers everything necessary for personnel development. One of the critical fields of this effort is exchange of production experience with the leading national engine manufacturing companies. Over the past few years the young specialists have already visited the branch of PJSC "IL"- Aviastar (Ulyanovsk), Kazan Engine Production Group (Kazan), UEC’s Salut (Moscow), UEC-Saturn (Rybinsk).
The purpose of the visit to UEC-Klimov was to acquire new knowledge and improve technical competence of employees. Perm team got acquainted with machining and metallurgical production, test facilities, studied specifics of serial production and aftermarket support of aviation gas turbine engines. In the modern interactive museum of the company Perm team was demonstrated legendary engines of fighters, missiles and tanks.
“Just as us, the specialists from Saint-Petersburg are intensively working with digital twins of aircraft engines, thereby enabling development of maximally accurate mathematical models, and making development and manufacturing cheaper and faster”, – said Julia Tuktarova, the process engineer.
“New company products tend to have more and more parts made by 3D printing. Additive manufacturing in Perm has been demonstrating its efficiency for more than 20 years already”, – said Demid Tarasov, the assembly fitter.
“Skillful fingers of Perm engine manufacturers – it is primarily their ability to make most complex engines which power Russian airplanes. You need many months, and sometimes even years, to become a high-class specialist. Knowledge is very important for a successful career, however communication with colleagues from other companies of the industry and study of their production practices is no less important. Therefore, development of the potential of young specialists is one of strategic goals of UEC-Perm Engines”, – pointed out Tatiana Snitko, acting as the HR Director.
