The enterprises of the Perm Engines Research & Production Complex (UEC-Perm Engines and UEC-Aviadvigatel, part of Rostec State Corporation) were visited on a working visit by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Oblast Aleksey Russkikh and the heads of the Ulyanovsk manufacturers of parts and assemblies for aviation equipment.
The purpose of the visit is a joint discussion of the long-term strategy of industrial partnership between aviation industry enterprises, acquaintance with the Perm engine-building site and presentation of the industrial potential of the Ulyanovsk Oblast plants.
The Governor of the Ulyanovsk Oblast and heads of the enterprises accompanied by Igor Maximov, Deputy General Designer – Chief Designer, PD Engine Family of UEC-Aviadvigatel, and Ivan Bogdanov, Deputy Executive Director – Production Director of UEC-Perm Engines, visited the aircraft engines and gas-turbine units assembly workshops. In particular, they inspected the high-tech competence center “GTE Shafts”, which was created for the production of long shafts in the interests of all the United Engine Corporation enterprises. The participants of also visited an advanced center for thermal protection coatings, which are applied to engine blades, significantly increasing the life characteristics of the products.
Enterprises of the Ulyanovsk Oblast cooperate with Perm Engines Research & Production Complex in the production of machine tools, tooling and components.
According to Alexey Russkikh, Ulyanovsk Oblast and Perm Krai are the leaders of the domestic aircraft building industry and are already actively developing large-scale industrial cooperation. Without partnership of strategic enterprises of two regions, it is impossible to build and equip civil and military aircraft of the country.
During the visit, agreements were reached on continuing the supply of parts and assemblies for advanced PD-14 and PD-35 engines, as well as for gas pumping units.
“One of the key factors of successful partnership is openness and readiness for interaction. Today we have opened a new page in the framework of cooperation between Ulyanovsk enterprises and Perm engine builders,” noted Igor Maximov, Deputy General Designer – Chief Designer, PD Engine Family of UEC-Aviadvigatel.
