JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel” (part of UEC Rostec) has entered into a contract with PAO “Sakhalinenergo” (part of RusHydro Group) for the equipment supply.
UEC-Aviadvigatel and Sakhalinenergo have signed the contract for supply of two 25 MW EGES-25PA power units for Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya CHPP-1.
Perm units will arrive as highly compatible prefab packages to reduce installation times. EGES-25PA will be simple-cycle operated in an outdoor area for peak power generation at Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya CHPP-1. Natural gas is used as the fuel.
High seismic activity on Sakhalin Island will not be an obstacle for Perm equipment operation, as the power units are able to withstand seismic impact intensity up to 9 on the MSK-64 scale without special actions.
In accordance with the contract, both of the EGES-25PA packages will be brought into operation in 2024.
Additional information
EGES-25PA units designed and manufactured by UEC-Aviadvigatel are operated at customer sites since 2015. To date the fleet comprises 15 units with total capacity of 375 MW, and total running time has exceeded 700 thousand hours.
Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya CHPP-1 is the largest power source of the Sakhalin region. It supplies power energy to almost the entire south of the island, maintains a steady-state operation within power utility system, provides heat to consumers in Yuzho-Sakhalinsk. Therefore, maintaining an uninterrupted operation of cogeneration plants and preventing the energy system from shortages are the high-priority tasks for powermen in the region, and the Perm equipment will be a useful aid in this respect.
