05.06.2023

A ceremony of awarding nominal scholarships to the best five-year students of the Aerospace Faculty of Perm National Research Polytechnic University was held in Perm Design Bureau UEC-Aviadvigatel (part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation). The scholarships were awarded by Takhir Khairulin, Senior Deputy Managing Director – General Designer – Head of Experimental Design Bureau.

Nikita Ovseichuk received the scholarship named after Arcady Shvetsov. The scholarship named after Pavel Solovyov was awarded to Tatiana Amosova. Both are employer-sponsored students, they are studying in the specialty “Aircraft and rocket engine design” and have on-the-job training at the Design Bureau: Tatiana in the Compressor Department, and Nikita in the Turbine Department.

Presenting the well-deserved awards, Takhir Khairulin emphasized: “We established nominal scholarships twenty-two years ago. This is a tribute to the founders of the Perm aircraft engine building school. Over these years, forty-two of the best students have been awarded nominal scholarships. Today, you are the best, and we are waiting for you to work at the Design Bureau after graduation.”

The financial value of the scholarship is 100,000 rubles, which is awarded as a lump sum. Besides, all employer-sponsored students during the first semester of the first year, and later those who get high grades, receive a monthly scholarship of 10,000 rubles from UEC-Aviadvigatel.

Tatiana Snitko, HR Director at JSC “UEC-Aviadvigatel”, said: “These students are our future. They are truly the best students, they get high grades, win top places in all-Russian Olympiads, and they are scholarship holders of the Russian Government. In addition, these students, like all employer-sponsored students, have been training at the Design Bureau for more than one year. They have everything to make a successful career at our company.”

A trainee Tatiana Amosova works on the three-dimensional aerodynamic calculations of axial compressors. “I started to train in the Compressor Department and immediately realized that this place is for me. I like the team, I gained a lot of knowledge and skills, and I am grateful to all my colleagues. They helped me to really love my job”, Tatiana said.

Nikita Ovseichuk can rightly be considered as a successor of the engine-building dynasty: his father works as a maintenance fitter in the foundry shop of the UEC-Perm Engines production facility. “I like our company, and when my eldest son has decided to enter university, I told him about the targeted recruitment and about UEC-Perm Engines. He is excited to study, and he likes the team with which he trains”, said Alexander Ovseichuk, who was present at the ceremony.

Through nominal scholarships, employer-sponsored education, salaried placements, and constant supervision of the employer-sponsored students, the management of UEC-Perm Engines shows young people that working as an engineer at an industrial enterprise is honorable, advantageous, and promising. Especially today, when the country’s government has set formidable tasks for engine builders to increase the aircraft engine production.
