05.07.2023

The heads of the enterprises of UEC-Perm Engines Research and Production Complex (UEC-Aviadvigatel and UEC-Perm Engines, part of Rostec United Engine Corporation) took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the memorial stele "Perm is a City of Labor Valor".

The solemn ceremony was attended by Dmitry Makhonin, Governor of Perm Krai, Olga Andrianova, acting Head of Perm, Alexander Inozemtsev, Deputy General Director of UEC for Perm Engines Research and Production Complex Management, Sergey Kharin, Executive Director of UEC-Perm Engines, heads and veterans of defense enterprises of Perm, combat veterans, and city residents.

We would like to remind readers that the veterans of the Perm Engine Complex were among the initiators of awarding Perm with the honorary title "City of Labor Valor". Three years after the signing of the corresponding Decree of Russian President, a memorial stele was installed on Three Centuries Square near the river-boat station in Perm, with two artillery “Msta-B” howitzer barrels, embodying the contribution of the city's enterprises in the national defense.

"During the Great Patriotic War every fourth gun was produced for the front by Motovilikha Plants, and every seventh engine by Perm Engines," said Rashid Dzunza, Chairman of the city public organization "Veterans of Perm Engines ".

In times of war, Stalin Molotov Plant No.19 (now UEC-Perm Engines) produced 31,864 aircraft engines ASh-82, ASh-82F, ASh-82FN, which were used in La-5, La-7 fighters, Tu-2, Pe-8, Su-2 bombers, and Su-6 ground-attack aircraft.

Today, the veterans of Perm Engines came forward with an initiative to erect a monument to the young workers in the park named after Mikhail Subbotin. The image of the future monument was inspired by the picture of eleven-year-old milling-machine operator Valentin Kusakin. Together with him during the Great Patriotic War about 7,000 teenagers from 14 to 16 years old labored at Stalin Molotov Plant No.19, working 14-16 hours and fulfilling the norm of 160-170%.

“This monument will be of great importance both for the patriotic education of young people and for the preservation of historical memory,” emphasized Rashid Dzunza.
