12.09.2023

Perm Engine Research & Production Complex enterprises (UEC-Perm Engines and UEC-Aviadvigatel, part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation) have held corporate special event for the engineers’ children, the First-Grader’s Day, before the beginning of the new school year.

For more than a decade, the first getting into the company has become an outstanding event in the life of schoolchildren-to-be. An important part of the event is a tour around the production facilities and parents' workplaces. This new experience often become a first step to the future profession for the children, that is why every child is an honorary guest at the company.

During the tour at the premises of UEC-Aviadvigatel, children were told about aircrafts and aeroengines that their parents design, and were shown the test benches and assembly shops, open-air Perm Aviation Museum, and Frolovo Airfield. Tatyana Snitko, Deputy Managing Director – HR Director, has offered some kind words of wisdom to the guests. She wished the children good studies, and success in bringing up good citizens of our country to the parents.

Among the young guests of the Design Bureau was seven-year-old Denis Melekhin. His grandfather Sergey Melekhin had worked here for 48 years, before he took a well-deserved retirement from his position of the Head of Exterior Systems. His uncle Aleksandr Melekhin, Head of Engine Overall Lay-Out and Systems, also works here. And that is where his mom and dad has met as well. They are Daria Melekhina, Design Engineer, and Aleksey Melekhin, Deputy Head of Actuators, Gearboxes and Transmission Mechanisms. There are two sons in the young family, where the eldest Denis is starting school this year, and the youngest one is Dmitry, who is 5.

UEC-Perm Engines has traditionally prepared intense and entertaining activities for the children: a photo shooting with costumed characters, air balloon shaping, the workshops on making wooden badges, remote-controlled car races, and table-top games, a dance flashmob, and Lunegovs Show performance. The kids have seen the legendary Perm engines at the Museum of Motor History. The in-house Scientific & Technical Library has prepared an exhibition titled “Time. People. Aircrafts”, where children and adults learned about records in the history of aviation.

Seven-year-old Natasha Staroverova has visited an aircraft engine assembly shop at UEC-Perm Engines as one of the young guests. Her parents, who are Vitaly Staroverov, an assembly fitter and Ksenya Staroverova, a design engineer, met at the factory. The couple now has three children.

Each little guest received a valuable corporate gift: a bag or backpack with school supplies. Indeed, the main result of the celebration was a great mood and an energy boost at the start of a school life.
