UEC-Perm Engines teaches how to build a successful career

The days of a young engine manufacturer were held in JSC “UEC-Perm Engines” (a part of Rostec United Engine Corporation).

The traditional annual event is designed to accelerate the adaptation of young workers at the plant and increase productivity in the workplace. In two days, young people build new communication; learn how to reveal leadership skills and initiative.

51 people – so many young specialists were hired by UEC-Perm Engines in 2023. There are 21 with higher education, 14 of them are graduates of Perm National Research Polytechnic University. There are 30 specialists with secondary professional education, 23 of them graduated from the Perm Aviation Technical School named after A.D. Shvetsov.

On the first day, Sergey Kharin, Executive Director of UEC-Perm-Engines, spoke to the engine manufacturers. He told about the company's mission, current tasks and plans for large-scale production growth in the coming years.

Then the young specialists visited the museum of the history of Perm engine manufacturing and the assembly shops for aircraft and industrial engines. The day ended with a team building training.

Pavel Ostanin, Machine Engineer, told why he chose UEC-Perm Engines: "Stability is important for me in any activity, and work at the plant meets this criterion. I believe that in the future I will be able to become a highly qualified engineer and apply for a management position."

The second day opened with the seminar "Effective Communications and Team Development", where the engine manufacturers learned to demonstrate their leadership skills, performed teamwork tasks, learned how to respond to criticism and recognize manipulation in business and social dialogue.

Nikolay Alikin, Design Engineer, got a job at the plant while he was still studying. "The plant today needs young specialists, and this is a great opportunity for us to start our career. At the same time, the atmosphere in the team is important for me. I am glad that the enterprise teaches such important competences as competent communication with colleagues and effective solution of common production tasks," Nikolay said.

"We give every young employee an opportunity to grow in their skills and build a successful working career. For this purpose, the company regularly organizes professional and advanced training, encourages industrial mentoring, holds seminars and trainings on personal development," stressed Sergey Kharin, Executive Director of UEC-Perm Engines.
