Valeria Gavrilova, head of the museum at JSC “UEC-Perm Engines” (part of Rostec United Engine Corporation), and Olesya Askhatova, head of Cartoon Studio “Animashka”, developed an educational project called “Studio PD-35” for early career guidance for children. The project won the regional contest of social projects and received a grant from the Governor of Perm Krai.
“Studio PD-35” is both the advanced engine of 35 tons thrust and cartoons created by Perm children aged 3 to 5 years old. The project will result in three films for children: "Engine", "Factory", and "Airplane", which will be created by teachers and students of “Animashka” cartoon studio. The mini animated series will tell about aircraft engines, their manufacturers, and airplanes.
"Perm Engines” has a unique experience in personnel management, recruitment and development, and career guidance work with young people. The Perm Engines Corporate Museum is an active participant in this process.
"The museum exposition has been significantly updated in recent years, we have VR-technologies, and a virtual museum has been created. This attracts the youth audience, mainly students of schools, technical colleges and universities. Recently, elementary school children have been coming more and more often. We realize that today career guidance can be started from preschool age, and cartoons are the best way to do this. The name of the project was not accidental: today the PD-35 engine is an advanced development of Perm engine manufacturers, and by the time the participants of the “Studio PD-35” are professionally identified, the engine will already be a serial engine, and it will be easier for the young people to choose where to go to study and work," says Valeria Gavrilova, the head of the museum.
A total of ten kindergartens in Perm are participating in the project. Their pupils will create cartoons about other industrial enterprises of the city: JSC “Reductor-PM”, LLC “LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez”, PJSC “Proton-PM”, and JSC “StroyPanelKomplekt”. Specially made animation stands for preschool children will be used in the creative process. The children will be assisted by teachers trained in the “Animashka” studio. The results of the work of “Studio PD-35”, including cartoons about Perm engine manufacturing, will be presented at the festival in September 2024.
